Terms of Service
The terms for using Explosion Walk AI: upload rules, deepfake prevention, acceptable use, credits, payments and refunds.
Last updated: 2026-10-28
Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service govern your use of the website explosionwalk.com and the video generation service offered on it (together, the "service"), operated by Explosion Walk AI ("we", "us"). They apply to every visitor and every account. By accessing or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Contact: support@explosionwalk.com.
Description of Service
The service lets you upload a photo and generate a short AI video for the Explosion Walk trend: an action-movie shot in which the person in the photo lights a fuse on an empty night highway and walks away from an AI-generated explosion without looking back. Videos are generated by third-party AI providers on our behalf (see "AI Models We Use" below). We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, with reasonable notice where possible.
The service is an independent tool, not affiliated with or endorsed by the creators of the film Darkest Hour, Focus Features, any music or audio rights holder, or the creators of the original trend videos. The film is named only to describe the audio the trend uses. We do not host or offer the trend's original videos or audio.
Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to use the service. You can generate videos with an account or, where offered, as a guest. A guest purchase creates an anonymous guest account tied to your browser, and we email your video to the address you enter at checkout; you are responsible for entering an email you can access. When you sign in with that email (with a sign-in link from Find my videos, or with Google), the guest's videos, credits and orders move to your account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
Your Uploads
You may only upload photos that:
- show yourself, or a person who has given you permission to use their photo for this purpose;
- you have the right to use;
- do not show anyone under 18; and
- do not show a public figure, such as a celebrity, athlete, influencer or politician; and
- do not contain nudity, sexual content, violence, or another person's trademarks or copyrighted artwork as the main subject.
Uploading a photo of another person without their permission is not allowed, and neither is uploading a photo to impersonate someone or to make it look like a real person took part in real events.
By uploading a photo, you confirm that these conditions are met. You are responsible for the photos you upload and the videos you generate from them.
You grant us a limited license to store, process, and transmit your photos and generated videos as needed to provide the service, including sending photos to our AI providers for processing. You can delete a finished video, its share link and the photo you uploaded for it at any time in My videos; see our Privacy Policy for what is removed.
Deepfake Prevention and Content Safety
We take a zero-tolerance approach to non-consensual deepfakes, impersonation and any content involving minors. The service is built to make one specific, recognisable meme video, not realistic footage of real people doing or saying things. These are the measures in place today:
- Consent confirmation. Before every generation you must confirm that the photo is yours or that you have permission to use it, and that it does not show a minor or a public figure. The generate button and our server both reject requests without this confirmation.
- One fixed template. Every video is the same Explosion Walk scene. You cannot enter a prompt or change the scene, the actions, the dialogue or the sound, and there is no voice cloning or speech generation from your input. The service cannot be used to make someone appear to say something or to place them in any other scene.
- Illustration step and provider screening. Your photo is first turned into illustrated reference images, and only those are sent to the video model. Our AI model providers run their own safety checks on real-person and sensitive content. When a provider blocks a request, the generation fails and the credits used for it are returned to your account automatically.
- Prohibited uses. You may not use the service, or videos made with it, to:
- use another person's likeness without their consent;
- impersonate anyone or deceive people about who appears in a video;
- harass, bully, threaten or shame anyone;
- create sexual or sexually suggestive content;
- create political disinformation or misleading content about elections, public figures or public events;
- commit fraud or scams;
- threaten violence, promote terrorism or dangerous acts, or present a video as real footage of an explosion, attack or accident; or
- depict or target minors.
- Reporting and removal. Every shared video page has a Report this video link, and you can also email support@explosionwalk.com. We review reports within 72 hours. While a report is being reviewed we may disable the video's share link straight away.
- Immediate enforcement. As soon as we confirm a violation, we delete the video and its photo from our storage, disable its share link, and suspend or terminate the account. Accounts terminated for these rules lose their remaining credits without a refund, and we may refuse future sign-ups and purchases from the same person. For content involving minors or sexual content of real people, we terminate the account at once and report it to the authorities where required. We keep the records needed to cooperate with law enforcement.
- AI-generated content and safety. Every video made with the service is AI-generated, fictional content. The explosion is a visual effect: no real explosion is filmed or caused, no real place is shown, and the scene shows no injuries. Do not attempt to recreate the scene in real life. When you share a video, follow the AI-content labeling rules of the platform you post on, and do not present it as real footage.
Acceptable Use
In addition to the prohibited uses above, you agree not to use the service to create, upload, or share:
- hateful, threatening, or violent content;
- content that infringes anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights; or
- content that violates any applicable law.
You also agree not to attempt unauthorized access to our systems, interfere with the service, or use automated means to abuse it.
We may refuse, remove, or block content, and suspend or terminate accounts, that we believe violate these terms.
AI Models We Use
- Reference images: your photo is first turned into reference illustrations by an AI image model.
- Your videos: generated with Seedance 2.0, a video model developed by ByteDance, which we access through Volcengine Ark. It generates the scene from our fixed text description, with the person in your photo as the main character.
- Audio: videos come with explosion and ambient sound generated by the video model. They do not include the dialogue from the film Darkest Hour, the audio of the original trend videos, or any music. Add a trending sound on the platform where you post, in line with its rules. GIFs are silent.
If we change the model used for your videos, we will update this section before the change takes effect.
Reporting Content
When to report. Report any generated video that breaks these terms, including content involving minors, a video made from your photo without your permission, impersonation, or content that infringes your rights.
How to report.
- Click Report this video on any shared video page.
- Or email support@explosionwalk.com with the subject "Content report". Include the video link (for example,
https://explosionwalk.com/v/...) and a short description of the problem.
How we handle reports. We review each report by hand within 72 hours. When a report is confirmed, we delete the video from our storage and disable its share link, and act on the account according to the severity:
- Critical (content involving minors, sexual content of real people): content removed, account terminated, and reported to the authorities where required (for example, child sexual abuse material to NCMEC).
- High (someone's photo used without consent, impersonation, harassment): content removed and account suspended.
- Other breaches: content removed and a warning issued.
We keep the identity of the person making a report confidential. We record false or malicious reports and may act on them.
AI-Generated Output
Generated videos are produced by AI models and may contain errors, artifacts, or results that do not match your expectations. Results depend on the photo you upload. We do not guarantee any particular outcome. Videos with a serious defect may qualify for one free re-generation after manual review, as described in the Refund Policy.
Subject to these terms and your rights in the photo you uploaded, you may use your generated videos for personal and non-commercial purposes, such as posting on social media. You are responsible for how you use and share them, including adding any music in line with the rules of the platform you post on.
Credits, Payment, and Refunds
Generating a video uses credits: 1 credit for a 480p video and 2 credits for a 720p HD video. Credits are sold as one-time packs; there is no subscription. Prices are shown on our website before purchase.
Orders are processed by our online reseller and Merchant of Record, Waffo Pancake, who is the seller of record for your purchase and also handles order-related inquiries and returns. We do not receive or store your full card or bank details.
Unused credits are refundable within 7 days of purchase; credits already used to generate a video are not refundable. If a generation fails, the credits used for it are returned to your account automatically. See our Refund Policy for details.
Intellectual Property
The service, including its software and design, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. These terms do not grant you any rights in the service other than the right to use it as described here.
The film Darkest Hour, its dialogue, the trend's original videos and audio, and the names and marks of their owners are not ours. They belong to their rights holders. We do not copy the original trend videos or audio into our videos: every video is generated from scratch from our own text description and the user's photo.
Copyright and likeness complaints. If you believe a video on the service infringes your copyright, trademark, privacy or right of publicity, email support@explosionwalk.com with the subject "Rights complaint" and include: your name and contact details; the work or right you hold; the link to the video (for example, https://explosionwalk.com/v/...); and a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized and that the information in your notice is accurate. We review complaints within 72 hours, remove infringing content, and terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if you violate these terms. You may stop using the service at any time. Unused credits are not refunded when an account is terminated for violating these terms.
Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms. We will post the updated version on this page and change the date above. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated terms.
